So What is Happening?

The deadline is looming and things are looking like it will be a struggle to get over the line. That is the problem a bit with trying to have a life and also take on projects like this! However, have descovered a lot about the Cortex-M Core. The Thumb2 instruction set is huge! It has some rather odd instructions and as is my want i have started to write a full blown emulator of the processor... why? well there is one in SourceForge but is is a bit interesting and i wanted to extend it to emulate a lot of fruit on the Luminary processor and some of my outboard peripherals. Seemed easier to write my own... well maybe... Have also been grafting away at the lossless codecs and finding more and more! Some are really quite simple but processor intensive and some are quite fiendish in their complexity but may be better suited to lower processing speeds. Have also added a couple of bits and pieces to the board. An LCD from a Nokia phone and a infra-red receiver for remote control interface. Have also found some other information about other Cortex processors that are in the pipeline. There would appear to be devices coming from SGS and Philips and aparently the newer phones are moving there from the full blown ARM. I am suppose it is code density and power consumption that is driving it.
